As parents, we want our family to work well together as a team. Additionally, many of us help kids on formal teams in various ways. But sometimes, our kids aren't catching the vision. To help us all teach our kids about teamwork, I've gathered some of my favorite Youtube videos that have helped me as I have worked with children's teams. Additionally, I have included some discussion suggestions/bullet points. Use one, or use them all. Good luck and have fun!
1. Teamwork can accomplish good things and bad things.
This is a fun, introductory video about what both good and bad teamwork can accomplish. We can work in groups towards positive or negative ends.
2. More examples of the good things that team work can accomplish. When we work together, we can protect and help each other. (There are a few duplicate videos that were included in #1.)
3. Teamwork is where you focus on how you can help others, not just yourself.
4. What type of team member are you?
This video is my favorite out of the bunch, though it is part of a marketing campaign for a specific company. But I feel that it brilliantly depicts the different types of people a team can have, and it also helps each of us identity which person we are and what our contribution is (or is not!). This is a great one for teams who may be having difficulties, and lends itself to great discussions.
Hi, I'm Jen! I adore chocolate, I'd rather read than clean my house, and I haven't seen my abs in I-don't-know-how-long. But I love my husband and kids to death and try to Raise The Good within myself and my family by making wise and uplifting media choices and having a deliberate family culture. You are probably doing the same thing. Let's share what works with each other!
