Contracts are usually viewed as extremely long, dry documents that many people don't read. Often, we just glance at them (pretending to understand what they say) and then sign at the bottom.
But what if I told you that contracts are a parent's best friend? It's true!

Did you know that the number one indicator of academic success is being an avid reader???
Talk about pressure to make sure that happens for your kids! Especially when each of them have their own natural inclinations to either love reading or... not so much.

It's funny how God works with me. Often times when I sense I need a change in my life, a resource focused on that topic will magically appear. That is what happened to me with this book. And the timing was amazing.
Do you ever feel like you just don't measure up?
Do you feel like no matter how hard you try, you can't ever do enough, be enough, or ever compete with everyone else? We all know that life is not a competition, but sometimes it feels like we are coming in dead last--and no one is around to cheer on the loser. Sometimes we're not sure we'll even make it to the finish line.
I felt that way a couple of weeks ago. It hit me pretty hard when I got on Instagram for the first time. I usually don't struggle with depression, but this started a downward spiral I couldn't get out of. Because everything I saw on Instagram was perfect.
Perfect bodies, perfect homes, perfect families, perfectly inspiring messages that touched my heart, but made me feel completely inadequate at the same time. It was rough. I was ugly crying and my poor husband tried to help, but I could tell he didn't quite know what to do! I knew I needed to snap out of it, but try as I might, I just couldn't shake the feelings of being the most ridiculous low life ever in the creation of...ever. It took me several days to get grounded again.
I'm in a good place now, but I know I'll probably have a day like that again. It happens. Maybe you'll have a day like that, too. (Though, I hope you don't!) Here are some things I want to remember the next time the perfection snare gets me again:

A child’s actions often speak more loudly than words.
And the action that speaks the loudest is where they go when you are near. It says so much about what kind of parent you are if they stay close.
Have your kids ever come to you feeling upset because something is unfair? Sometimes kids whine (as we all do from time to time), but sometimes, they are upset for legitimate reasons.
Here are a few examples that might sound familiar:
We can empathize with our children, help put things in perspective if their viewpoint is off, and advocate for them when it is necessary, but could we do something more?
By now, you probably all know that I love old-fashioned books and movies, because they have old-fashioned values in them. And I think our world needs more of that. But recently, on a Facebook group I belong to, a mom asked about MODERN adventure stories for her teenage son that are clean. It got me thinking, and I decided to do a round up of our family's favorite clean adventure stories that have been written for this generation.
